Houston Texans 25, 2016 at 4:02 AM 1 of 3 | License Photo The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to interview Tom Coughlin for their head coaching position left vacant by the recent firing of Gus Bradley. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday the Jaguars will interview the former New York Giants and Jaguars head coach sometime in the coming week. Rapoport said the interview with the 70-year-old Coughlin could be for the head coaching job or as some type of “football czar” position overseeing operations. Coughlin served as the Jaguars’ coach during their inaugural year in 1995. He led the team to the playoffs four times in eight seasons in Jacksonville, where he compiled a 68-60 record before being fired. He twice took the Jags to the AFC Championship Game before losing. Jaguars had just three winning seasons since Coughlin’s departure following the 2002 season. hereCoughlin then guided the Giants for 12 seasons from 2004-2015, including victories in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI. Coughlin had one year left on his contract but he “resigned” in January following New York’s second straight 6-10 season and third straight losing season.
